Body in relation to movement, architecture and images
 Location work

In this laboratory workshop our focus will be on stimulating the sensory awareness; taking time to seeing, being and experimenting and seeing things that we normally pass by without paying any attention to them.
We will work with pedestrian movements, gestures and body language; placing and replacing the body in an existent environment; framing and composing the images as stills taken - out of daily life.
Through some exercises we will explore our movements. The result coming across will be material available to - use and - relate to a location. This location can be a corridor, a place in a building or a spot in the city. We will capture the material on video and photos. Later on those materials can function as end result, a prop, or as part of a performance.
The dialogue between internal movements and external elements can stimulate our sensitivity and awareness towards every day actions, locations and images.

Video Dance
In this workshop we will play, move and dance, discovering the range of possibilities that our daily body can produce. With some dance exercises, working in small groups of 2 or 3 persons, we will create material which can later on take place as part of a larger event.
We will investigate how to capture moments in the work by placing images in different environments, giving our work many additional qualities.
We will work as well with different music, searching for the rhythm that matches our internal rhythm in relation to the movement and the images which we choose.
Besides playing with the dance material and images, we will have some time for an investigation of the technical matters, such as the framing, camera angles, composition and montage.
There are many different possibilities for presenting our material to the public: for example, through a TV screen, or as a projection in a specific location, such as on a building, or in a more traditional way on a white screen.
One of most interesting ways to think of presentation is working together with live events on stage. Our material can be presented in a collaborative manner with other dancers in the group during the performance. The video material might be projected on a screen, the dancers bodies or in combination with the dance on stage as a parallel story.
